BAKERSFIELD — Deputies arrested the last of three men on Friday in connection with a violent assault that occurred back in June when the victim was beaten by several subjects during a verbal confrontation and hospitalized for several days due to the severity of his injuries.
On Aug. 30, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Section visited a residence in the 500 block of East Fairview Road to execute a search warrant and an arrest warrant for 24-year-old Justin Jesus Valencia.
According to police, when they arrived, Valencia fled into a neighboring yard where he was located and taken into custody after a brief struggle with a sheriff’s K-9 officer.
Already arrested in the assault case was 19- year-old Carlos Gomez on Aug. 5 and 19-year-old Miguel Angel Perez on Aug. 9.
All suspects were booked into the Central Receiving Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and participation in a criminal street gang.
Perez is being held on $300,000 bail, Gomez on $120,000 bail, and Valencia on $125,000 bail.
