A sex offender was arrested on Thursday by San Luis Obispo Police after trying to have sex with several teenage boys.

According to SLOPD, Michael George Johnson, 50, was arrested at the police station after he attempted to complete his required annual registration as a sex offender. Johnson has four prior convictions for annoy or molest children, which range in date from 1990 to 2005.
Investigators say Jonson in July initiated “inappropriate sexual conversations” with two adolescent males, ages 16 and 17.
One of the juveniles told police when he was in Johnson’s vehicle, Johnson went to an adult store to buy adult material and offered to let the minor borrow it.
Additionally, Johnson, according to the minor, let them use his computer to watch pornography.
One of the juveniles told police Jonson asked him “to engage in sexual acts with him.” The juvenile said he refused.
Investigators discovered Johnson “was actively seeking to engage in sexual acts with multiple male juveniles.”
Police say one of the juveniles came forward and told his parents about Johnson’s activities.
Johnson was booked in SLO county Jail for two counts of annoy or molest a child with prior conviction; contact with minor with intent to commit a sex crime; dissuading a victim from reporting a crime and for failing to provide information at registration.
Johnson failed to report his place of employment.
Johnson is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. His first court appearance is scheduled for August 26.
