A Paso Robles man was arrested on Thursday by police for allegedly burglarizing a local business.

According to a press release from the Paso Robles Police department, officers responded to an activation of a commercial burglar alarm at the Matheson Tri-Gas Company in the 1100 block of Vendels Circle. The alarm was set off around 3:50 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a locked gate that was cut open with force. After searching the immediate area, officers located Kevin Smith, 46, of Paso Robles.
Police soon determined Smith was the suspected burglar and arrested him without incident for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of an illegal weapon, which was a wooden club.
Police did not release information if Smith was in possession of burglar tools or stolen itmes.
Smith was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail. It is unknown the amount of Smith’s bail at the time of press.
