Stand Off With Man Who Urges Officers to Shoot Him Ends Peacefully

A 22-year-old man was arrested Sunday after running across four lanes of traffic, then urging them to shoot him.

The man was initially spotted walking in the center divide of Highway 101 near Alameda Del Prado around 3:30pm, then jumped over the center divider. He then ran across four lanes of traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol.

When CHP officers arrived on scene, the man picked up a rock and walked toward the officers.

The man, later identified as Terrell Hollis, a Richmond resident, repeatedly said “Shoot me, shoot me,” according to Officer Andrew Barclay, a CHP spokesman.
