BAKERSFIELD — A 63-year-old truck driver has been arrested for having a sexual relationship with a 14 year-old girl. 
William Wesley Deyoe Jr., of Bakersfield was arrested and charged with lewd acts with a child, unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He was booked into the Kern County Jail and is being held on $62,500 bail.
According to spokesperson Michaela Sims, Bakersfield Police received at tip on August 14, at approximately 4:45 p.m., that indicated that Deyoe had been having a sexual relationship with a female juvenile victim, and that he was planning to drive the victim to Florida on his next trip in two days.
“The investigation revealed that Mr. Deyoe had met the female victim through an
Internet site,” Sims said. “The suspect then established a relationship with the victim engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse.”
According to police, the victim was located and was found to be unharmed.
