BAKERSFIELD — Two men from the Los Angeles area were arrested in Kern County on Wednesday after detectives located five pounds of methamphetamine and just over one pound of heroin in their vehicle.
They were 34-year-old Manolo Benitez of Tujunga and 37-year-old Clapsira Lazcano-Lopez of Paramount.
Both were booked into the Kern County Jail on various drug related charges as well as conspiracy and possession of false citizenship documentation.
On Wednesday, Aug. 14th, 2013 at about 7:00 pm, detectives assigned to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violator Unit with the assistance of the Kern County, California Multi-Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team, the Kern Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Gang Suppression Section-Investigations Unit, took the two men into custody during a lengthy narcotics related investigation in southeast Bakersfield.
According to authorities, the estimated street value of all the drugs seized was about $275,000.
