MURRIETA – Two Murrieta high school football players were arrested on Sept. 12 for allegedly raping six of their female peers, at least one of whom was younger than 14, according to local media reports.

One of the boys, 17-year-old Kishawn Tre Holmes, faces felony counts of forcible rape, lewd acts with a minor under age 14, false imprisonment and dissuading a victim from reporting a crime. His first court appearance on Tuesday will be open to the public, a decision made by prosecutors due to the nature of the offenses.
The other boy, Byron Keith Holt, also 17, apparently faces less serious charges. Details of his case will not be made public.
Most of the assaults took place this summer, said investigators, and did not occur on the Vista Murrieta High School campus where both suspects are students. Most of the victims are also students at the school.

Police initially learned of the assaults when a parent came forward and reported them to school administrators.
The case is being investigated by the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
