KERN COUNTY — Detectives with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents of the State of California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, arrested 15 people for alcohol violations throughout Kern County in August.
According to police, decoys were set up to target establishments and their employees willing to sell alcohol to minors.
Sting operations in the Tehachapi, Rosedale, and Buttonwillow resulted in three arrests. They were Gabriela Rivera (20) of Tehachapi, Tina Sides (27) of Wasco, and Veronica Mendoza-Morales (32) of Bakersfield all for sales of alcohol to minors.
The same type of operation was conducted in Frazier Park resulting in the arrest of 22-year-old local David Yacobuan.
Additional arrests were made in southwest Bakersfield well as Lake Isabella and Oildale.
They were Aaron Garcia (26) of Porterville for furnishing alcohol to a minor, Navid Heidary (29) of Rolling Hills Estates for furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, Lauren Taylor (21), John Lyles (21) both from Bakersfield for furnishing alcohol to minors, Kevin Perry (43) of Bakersfield for possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property, Carol Webb (42) of Bakersfield for furnishing alcohol to a minor and two outstanding warrants and Ronee Johnson-Schnars (42) of Bakersfield for three outstanding warrants
Finally, rounding out those arrested were Taylor Paddock (20), Dylan Hagar (19), and Kasie Ross (20), all of Bakersfield, and 19-year-old Nicole Baker of Oak Park, all for being minors in possession of alcohol.
