VISALIA – Police arrested a Visalia woman suspected of shooting three people in two separate incidents on Monday that left three victims in the hospital.
The Visalia Police Department arrested 30-year-old Arsenia Hernandez in connection to the shootings.

The first shooting occurred just before 10 a.m. on Monday inside an apartment on Grape Street and Northeast 2nd Avenue. Hernandez allegedly shot a 44-year-old woman, who told police that she did not know the suspect, authorities said.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she is currently in serious condition. Authorities did not give details as to where on her body she was shot. Nor did they provide a possible motive for Hernandez’s actions.
The second shooting happened around 7 p.m. the same day in the 3300 block of East Douglas Avenue, approximately two miles away from the first shooting. Officers were already in the area working a case unrelated to the shooting when they were flagged down by a car carrying two gunshot victims. A 32-year-old woman had been shot multiple times and a 43-year-old man had been shot once, according to authorities.
Police received “witness reports of both a male and a female running from the scene,” according to Lt. Brian Winter with the Visalia Police Department.
Police believe the shootings happened at the victims’ homes, but there were no signs of forced entry. The victims were not gang members, according to authorities.
Hernandez was arrested around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday near Houston and Turner avenues, and was booked on three counts of attempted homicide.
Police are still investigating the shootings to determine a motive and whether more suspects are on the loose.
