Suspect Eludes Capture
HOLLISTER — Detectives with the Hollister Police Department are still looking for Jose C. Arellano as he eluded capture in the city of Lodi. Arellano is still wanted in the disappearance of a 14-year-old juvenile from Hollister.

On Tuesday, August 30, Hollister detectives developed leads that led them to the City of Lodi. They notified the Lodi Police Department and began surveillance of a truck that was parked in a private lot at the 800 block of West Kettleman Lane in Lodi.
The next day, Hollister Police Detectives learned that the 14-year-old victim was located in a shopping center at the 700 block of West Kettleman Lane. After talking with the victim they learned that Arellano might be located near Highway 12 and Interstate 5 in Lodi. Officers proceeded to said location and found that the suspect had fled prior to their arrival.
Arellano is still a person of interest in this incident. He is described as a Hispanic male 5-foot-10, light skin, medium build.
The Hollister Police Department has seized Arellano’s truck and is possessing it for evidence. The location near Highway 12 and Interstate 5 was turned over to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office to process for evidence.
The Hollister Police Department would like to acknowledge the community for their help in this case. Groups such as the “Hollister Kidz Crew” helped by distributing flyers as well as helping with area searches.
