On August 26th, 35-year-old Davis local Gary Rayshel Jr. was arrested for possession of illegal narcotics and weapons.

East 8th Street, Davis

The arresting officer had initially observed Rayshel walking along the 1800 block of East Eighth Street in Old East Davis. According to Davis PD, it was when Rayshel spotted the patrol car that he made an attempt to conceal whatever it was he’d been carrying.

At that point, the officer flagged Rayshel down and caught him in redhanded possession of methamphetamine and hydrocodone. The latter, a semi-synthetic derivative of codeine, is only legal if prescribed and, in large doses, can provide a euphoric “high.” In addition, Rayshel had in his possession a stun gun and an “illegal edged weapon.”

Rayshel was booked into the Yolo County Jail.
