WATSONVILLE — The Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force arrested 26-year-old Watsonville resident Tyler Paul Weber and 22-year-old Santa Cruz resident Fallon Cynthia Furtado for possession of drugs with the intent to sell.
On August 28 at 7:09 p.m., two members of the Santa Cruz County Task Force were on gang suppression patrol in Watsonville when one of them noticed a vehicle that was in violation of the vehicle code.
The vehicle, driven by Weber, was stopped at the corner of Holm Road and Jeanette Way in Watsonville. A search revealed a small cache of methamphetamine which appeared ready for sale. Prescription pills and a small amount of heroin were also seized.
The two were also in possession of illegally obtained handguns. Police are still investigating whether they were stolen, and the two were arrested without incident and transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail.
Furtado was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possessing a narcotic, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. Her bail has been set at $5,000.
Weber was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm, and violation of his probation. His bail has been set at $25,000.
“We are not aware of any priors for intent to sell on the two subjects,” Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force Supervisor Sergeant Stefan Fish said, “Only he was charged with intent to sell, she was charged with possession.”
The Santa Cruz County Task Force is a joint task force that is made up of officers from area police departments. In this case, the two arresting officers were from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department and the Watsonville Police Department, respectively.
