Suspect linked to Other Burglaries in Aptos
WATSONVILLE—Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department have made an arrest in a illegal entry case that led them to solve several previous burglaries in the Aptos Area. They have arrested 38-year-old Watsonville resident Jennifer Moncovich in connection with those burglaries.

On August 12 at 4:20 p.m., Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on East Bel Mar Road in Watsonville for a report of a burglary. While investigating the report they developed leads on a suspect.
“The home owners drove to their house and found the suspect sitting in her car in their driveway,” Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Kennedy said. “ The home owners did not know the person.”
Deputies made contact with Moncovich in regards to the illegal entry into the home in Watsonville. While there, deputies were able to find evidence that linked her to the burglary on East Bel Mar Road. They also found evidence from burglaries that occurred in the Aptos Area.
Among the evidence found in her possession were electronics, jewelry, coins, and a firearm. Deputies also linked her to burglaries in the Santa Cruz County Area. They also were able to determine the manner in which she targeted the homes that she burglarized.
Moncovich has a previous history of burglary and other property crimes. She was a arrested and transported to Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of receiving known stolen property, possession of a leaded cane and first degree burglary.
Her bail has been set at $100,000 and her arraignment on the charges was set for August 18.
