FRESNO – Police identified and are on the look out for two suspects believed to be responsible for the fatal stabbing of a 31-year-old man earlier this month.
The Fresno Police Department identified 25-year-old Samuel Whitmore and 25-year-old Branden Forrest, both of Fresno, in the killing of Michael Tunnel that happened around 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 14.
Witnesses said they saw Tunnel, a tattoo artist, and two men fighting outside of a bar near Dakota and Blackstone avenues, across from Manchester Mall. One of the men stabbed Tunnel before running away. The altercation was also caught on a surveillance video.
Tunnel died from his wounds after being transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
The two men, believed to be Whitmore and Forrest, fled the scene in a 1998 Lincoln Navigator. Police believe they were headed to the San Luis Obispo or Los Banos areas. Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
