DAVIS—Two Solano County men who allegedly attempted to break into a Davis residence on Drake Drive were arrested due to a neighbor’s call to police reporting the incident at about 2:45 am August 18.

Davis Police spokesman Sgt. Frank Tenedora said the caller informed police dispatchers that the two men had just left the residence they’d vandalized but had not succeeded in entering. The caller was able to provide detailed descriptions of the men and their vehicle. The neighborhood watcher stated the failed early morning burglars were headed toward Sycamore Lane in West Davis.
Davis police quickly identified and stopped the vehicle. In the course of their subsequent investigation, officers determined that the driver, Manuel Tavizon, Jr., 25, a Vacaville resident, had been driving under the influence on a suspended license.
The witness was called to where police had stopped the vehicle and identified Tavizon and his passenger Juan Juarez-Ramirez, 24, a resident of Dixon, as the men the witness had earlier seen attempt to break into the Drake Drive residence.
Davis police did not reveal whether the duo had randomly targeted the Drake Drive residence.
Tavizon and Juarez-Ramirez were jailed on charges of suspicion of vandalism and, for Tavizon, DUI.
