ROSEVILLE — Roseville Police Detectives have recently arrested a Turlock couple suspected of pillaging several coin-operated machines throughout the area.

Between June 14th and June 21st, Roseville PD officers responded to four reported incidents of coin thievery — at a laundromat on Folsom Road and coin-operated car washes on Eureka Road, Taylor Road, and Pleasant Grove Boulevard respectively. The happy couple would apparently show up in the early hours of the morning, drill the coin box locks, and claim the loot within.

Through interviews with witnesses, reviews of video surveillance footage, and information gathered from other area law enforcement agencies, Roseville Police detectives were able to identify a group tied to thefts in Roseville and at least 14 other similar thefts between February and June in the counties of San Joaquin, Yuba, El Dorado, Sacramento, and Placer.
The total value of the stolen coins, coupled with repair costs, is over $21,000, which qualifies the suspects in question — Robert J. Miller and Cynthia J. Patrias, both 49 — for a big old grand theft charge, as well as conspiracy and other related charges.
Charges are also pending against two other suspects whose names have yet to be released.
