VISALIA – Police arrested two men over the weekend in connection to a double homicide that occurred last Friday morning in a Visalia home.
Police took 21-year-old Adrian Castillon and 30-year-old Ray Garcia into custody on Saturday after they were spotted on a city bus.

The victim’s bodies were discovered just before 10:30 a.m. of Friday morning inside a house in the 3700 block of Damsen Avenue, just west of Demaree Street. Authorities have not revealed how the victims died, but said that they had likely died within hours of their bodies being discovered. Visalia Police Chief Colleen Mestas called it a “gruesome homicide.”
The victims were identified by neighbors as Marie Rogers and Jerry Murillo.
A 1990s-model Pontiac Sunfire was stolen from the home. Police issued an alert to be on the lookout for the vehicle, which was found at Visalia Marketplace on Saturday. Witnesses reported seeing the two suspects abandoning the vehicle in the shopping center parking lot and then walking toward a bus stop.
Officers who arrived at the Marketplace were told that the suspects had boarded a city bus. Officers began a search for the city bus, which they later found and pulled over. They found Castillon and Garcia inside the bus and placed them under arrest. The suspects are to face two murder counts.
Chief Mestas said that the murders were not random acts, and that the victims were targeted. A motive for the murders has not been released at this time.
