Detectives Seize Meth, Cocaine

The Paso Robles Police Department Special Enforcement Team (SET) arrested a man for possession of narcotics for sale on Monday.

According to PRPD, around 10 p.m., SET detectives initiated a traffic enforcement stop on Leonel Zavala Sanchez, 49, of Paso Robles along the 2000 block of Riverside.

Police used a canine to search the car. The canine alerted detectives there might be drugs concealed within the car. Detectives discovered what appeared to be methamphetamine and cocaine under a backseat.

Sanchez was arrested for possession of narcotics for sale.

Detectives seized 5.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine and one gram of suspected cocaine. Detectives also located and seized nearly $1,100 from Sanchez.

After serving a search warrant at Sanchez’ residence, detectives found an additional $1,600, drug sales transaction records, digital scales, drug packaging, and a .45 caliber pistol.

Sanchez was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on three felony charges related to possession of drugs for sale.
