CRESCENT CITY – A quick car chase led the arrest of two Crescent City men and the requisition of a loaded gun.  On Monday at approximately 12:15 p.m., it was Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Donaldson’s intention to pull over a car on Childs Ave., Crescent City, however, the driver only accelerated according to the sheriff’s Commander, Bill Steven.  The deputy sped after the suspects at a maximum of 90 mph, but the chase was cut short when the driver crashed into a fence on Meridian St.

The driver, 25-year-old Adam Nott of Crescent City, was arrested on scene and charged on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, evading a peace officer and driving without a license. After a vehicle search, Officer Donaldson came up with a .38-caliber handgun.

Nott’s pursuit passenger, 30-year-old Zachariah Dungan – also a Crescent City resident, eluded police but was discovered an hour later covered in mud in a swamp not far from the cemetery.

Dungan was arrested on charges of suspicion of possessing meth, resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Steven said “It turned out to be a pretty good bust for Deputy Donaldson.”
