Hollister Man Arrested Three Times In A Week

Suspect Was Booked on Numerous Drug Charges

HOLLISTER—The Hollister Police Department must be think they are seeing triplets. But no, they have arrested the same man three times in the past 17 days as they arrested 22-year-old Hollister resident Tyler James Gregory on drug charges on numerous occasions.

The first offense occurred on February 22, when police responded to an automobile accident on Sunnyslope Road in Hollister.  An investigation revealed that Gregory was driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.

He was transported to the San Benito County Jail and booked on over 10 charges that included DUI and possession of drugs for sale.

The second offense happened on March 9, when officers found illegal drugs and other drug related paraphernalia in Gregory’s possession during a traffic stop by police.  Again, Gregory was taken to San Benito County Jail and booked on possession of marijuana for sale and the transportation of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and a new charge of possession of cocaine.

The third offense occurred on March 11, when a witness called the police and reported what he saw “As a possible drug sale between men at the skate park.”  When Police arrived, they contacted two individuals about the possible transaction.  Further investigation resulted in the discovery of narcotics on Gregory and other man, 21-year-old Hollister resident Cesar Ramos.

“This is a result of what happens when the public gets involved.” Hollister Police Captain Carlos Reynoso said, “We can’t do this on our own, it needs to be a partnership between us and the community.”

Again, Gregory was arrested and transported to San Benito County Jail for the third times in less than 17 days.  One wonders if he has his own cell in the jailhouse. This latest rash is not new either – Gregory was also arrested in September last year for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernelia.

Gregory was charged with marijuana for sale, possession of methamphetamine, transportation of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into jail, because during the booking process more narcotics were found hidden in his clothing.

Ramos, the other guy in this story, was booked for possession of marijuana for sale and conspiracy.

SAN JOSE, Calif – On March 16, 2014 SJPD officers were patrolling an area near Sonora Avenue and Koencrest Avenue. When they arrived near the area they had noticed a large plume of smoke in the area. Once they arrived near the scene they saw a man near an electrical box with a fire in front of the building 1631 N. 1st Street, just a block away from the residence of 30-year-old Jimray Alcantara Rodillas.

Officers noticed that the man they soon identified as Rodillas had built a fire with cardboard and several small items, including snails, near the electrical box. Officers used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Several minutes later the cardboard caught on fire again and officers had to re-extinguish the fire.

Rodillas was caught burning things at this building on First Street. His own apartment is seen in the background across the street.

Rodillas was taken into custody and arrested for arson under PC 451 (D) Felony Arson of a Commercial Office Building. He had also been arrested earlier in March, on the 5th, on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance while driving through Milpitas.

After questioning Rodillas, the San Jose PD officers said, “He lit the fire because he was trying to kill a snail”. It was determined that Rodillas was littering on the property when he had used the cardboard to start the fire. Rodillas appeared in Court on March 20 in Dept 42 and is expected to submit a plea for further sentencing for the incident on June 12, 2014. The charge has been changed from a Felony in this matter to a misdemeanor charge under PC 602 (m) and infraction for entering and occupying real property or structures of any kind without the consent of the owner.

SAN BERNARDINO – Two adult men and a juvenile were shot by a man on Friday night, but police have yet to disclose the identity of the suspect, who might have shot another man earlier in the day.

Police are still investigating the 6:51 p.m. shooting in the 2900 block of North Loma Ave., where four people were found shot, including the suspected shooter, a 19-year-old black male.
When police responded to initial reports, they discovered four people suffering from differing gunshot wounds and different locations at the apartment complex area. All were taken to an area hospital, including a 19-year-old female adult from Los Angeles – shot in the chest and remained in critical condition following surgery.

Two other male adults, including the shooter who was wounded in the leg, and another victim shot in the face, will survive, said Lt. Rich Lawhead, spokesman for San Bernardino police. A 15-year-old victim was also expected to survive.

The two other shooting victims are from San Bernardino. All were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, a city located south of San Bernardino.

Police arrested the male shooting suspect, who is from San Bernardino, at the hospital, said Lawhead, “after witnesses identified the shooter to be the male adult who was shot in the leg.”

Lawhead disclosed the suspect shot himself in the leg while trying to escape.

Additional evidence of a second shooter has surfaced, said Lawhead, “but (the suspect) has not yet been identified.

Lawhead said the shooting does not appear to be gang related based on the suspect’s comments prior to the attack.

Names have not been released, said Lawhead, “due to the ongoing investigation.”

The scene included several residents who crowded into the shooting scene while police, both on the ground and from a helicopter, attempted to disperse the group.
In a shooting that might have been related earlier on Friday, police investigated a call about a fight near 15th and Belle in which an unidentified man with a bullet wound to his foot was discovered.

Laura Lee Kenner, 30, was reportedly arrested by local authorities in Farmington, New Mexico, while Jules Clifford Carrillo, 21, and Edward Taylor Anauo, 23, were reportedly arrested by the Nebraska City Police Department in Nebraska. Dry Creek in Roseville, where the missing man’s body was found.

According to Roseville PD, on March 15, 2013, someone fishing in Dry Creek near Atkinson Street found human remains near the creek bed. In late June 2013, the Placer County Coroner reportedly identified the deceased person as a Los Angeles County missing person — John Paul Alpert, 19, of Palmdale.

During the investigation, Roseville detectives reportedly learned Alpert had lived at home, helping his parents and attending community college. He had reportedly left Palmdale on March 10, 2013, for a first-time adventure illegally riding the freight train rails. He had reportedly communicated with his family every day until March 17, and then all communications had stopped, and his worried family had reported his missing to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.

Roseville detectives reportedly determined that Alpert had arrived in Roseville on a freight train between March 16 and 17, where he was killed near a freight train rider’s encampment.

The killing happened near the Roseville Union Pacific railyard.

With the help of Roseville PD’s transient officer, David Flood, detectives reportedly researched the community and lifestyle of cross-country freight train riders, and eventually identified potential suspects, with the investigation leading to the issuance of Placer County arrest warrants for three experienced freight train riders.

Roseville detectives would like to thank the Placer County District Attorney’s Office, Union Pacific Railroad Police Department, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, the California Department of Justice, the Farmington (New Mexico) Police Department, and the Nebraska City Police Department for their assistance with this case.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kenneth Chandler Anderson, 22, as a suspect in the violent attack and sexual assault of a Subway sandwich shop employee last week, according to an official press release. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on Friday, March 28 on one misdemeanor and four felony charges related to the attack. He is reportedly currently being held on $1 million bail.

According to a previous press release issued by Sac County Sheriff, at approximately 8:30 am on March 25 the Sheriff’s Department received a call from a female at a local sandwich stop in the 5000 block of Auburn Boulevard, reporting she had been assaulted by a stranger when she had arrived to work. Upon arrival, deputies reportedly discovered a victim in her early to mid 20s had been violently attacked inside the business. The victim had reportedly sustained significant physical injuries from the attack. She reportedly stated she had been sexually assaulted by a male wearing a mask over his face and dressed in all dark clothing. The victim had reportedly been taken to the hospital to receive immediate medical treatment.

Sketches previously released by the Sacramento Sheriff of a rape suspect.

Sketches previously released by the Sacramento Sheriff of a rape suspect.

According to Sac Sheriff, a motive for Anderson’s actions have yet to be determined, however, Anderson was a long time employee at the sandwich shop where the victim also worked.

His appearance has led to speculation that he is the serial rapist that was being sought earlier this year. A 20 to 40 year-old black man with short hair, a large build and rectangular glasses was described as being the wanted suspect in three attacks beginning in September. Another sexual assault occurred in December, and then in January; all suspects with the same description, and one that fits Anderson.

News 10 has reported that the sketches released of the wanted rape suspect were even displayed in the Subway where Anderson and his victim worked. They quoted a co-worker, Adam Dowdy, as saying that ”When we first put the sketches up, he said, ‘wow that looks just like me.’ He did mention that”.

Detectives are still conducting an active investigation in this case and continue to ask that anyone with any information related to Anderson’s actions or this investigation, to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5070.

Update: On Monday Afternoon, the Sacramento Sheriff’s office released a statement saying the they have now ruled out Anderson as a suspect in the earlier serial rape cases. Evidence, including DNA samples, did not match Anderson with the suspect in those incidents.

LOWER LAKE, LAKE COUNTY – A woman from Middletown was driving through Lower Lake last Thursday with a friend from Calistoga when she was pulled over by a Lake County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy, who had noticed a broken tail light on her white Ford sedan. The couple must have quickly formulated a plan of action as they pulled into the Shell Gas station, knowing the car was chock full of illegal narcotics.

Middletown, where the 30-year-old driver Tiffany Anne Correia lives, got its name as the historic half-way point between Lower Lake, on the south end of Clear Lake, and Calistoga, the Napa County resort town known for its volcanic hot springs spas, where her companion, 31-year-old Tyson Loren Blakeley is from.

Correia and Blakeley were pulled over at this Shell Station in Lower Lake.

Correia and Blakeley were pulled over at this Shell Station in Lower Lake.

According to Steve Brooks of the Sheriff’s Department, Correia puled over and stopped the car, and she and Blakeley quickly got out as the deputy approached. He asked them to please get back into the car, but she said, whoops, sorry, she locked the keys inside! As the deputy spoke to the pair, he could clearly smell marijuana smoke coming out of the one inch opening left in the passenger side window. He asked them for their permission to search the car, but they said no he could not, and adamantly denied that there was any marijuana in the car.

The deputy decided he should have more probable cause before taking the initiative to search the car anyway, especially since a forced entry would be needed. He called for assistance from a drug detecting K9 unit. Meanwhile, Correia and Blakeley decided they were done, and politely told the deputy they were leaving.  Having none of that, the deputy told them not so fast, they were both being officially detained. Correia impatiently grabbed a windshield wiper and jimmied the lock herself. As she opened the driver’s side door, the deputy opened the passenger door, and the smell became more intense. However, Correia insisted there was No @#&$*!# marijuana in the %@*&!$@ car!

Evidence pulled from Correia's car included pakckaged marijuana and two small bats serving as billy clubs.

Evidence pulled from Correia’s car included pakckaged marijuana and two small bats serving as billy clubs.

In spite of Corriea’s vehement and profane objections, the deputy saw that there was a sunglass case on the passenger seat, and it contained a glass pipe with processed marijuana, or hashish. Based on this find, he informed them that he would continue to search the contents of the car. There was a glass container with more hash on the front floor, and a couple of small baseball bats, one of them sharpened at the end.

A second deputy then arrived to assist, and they continued the search, locating a black bag in the passenger area of the car, which contained about a pound of processed marijuana. The pair continued their game of denial, perhaps planning to say they borrowed the car from a friend, or maybe stole it from a drug dealer. Whatever their story may have been, it soon dried up as the deputies discovered a black duffle bag in the trunk. Inside this were a number of hypodermic needles, packaging material and a bent spoon with white crystaline residue consistent with methamphetamine. Also in the bag were some small bags containing white crystal meth, along with men’s clothing, and some prescription medicine bottles linking it to Blakeley.

Evidence pulled from Blakeley's bag included syringes and liquid meth.

Evidence pulled from Blakeley’s bag included syringes and liquid meth.

The search was far from over however, as deputies next located a cylindrical replica Lifesavers container that had magnets attached to the outside so that it could be concealed against an interior wall or ceiling of a car. Inside the container were a number of hypodermic needles, one of them containing 30 milliliters of what turned out to be liquid meth. All in all, the search yielded 5 pounds of processed marijuana, 10 grams of concentrated cannabis, or hashish, and 2 grams of meth.

Tyson Blakeley's Facebook profile photo.

Tyson Blakeley’s Facebook profile photo.

After all was revealed, Blakeley admitted that at least the meth was indeed his, and that he needed help for his drug problems. His recent history with the law bears out his statement. On Halloween of last year, he was arrested in Middletown, perhaps visiting Correia (though she was not arrested at that time), on possession of narcotics for sale, and for resisting or obstructing arrest. Then on December 16 he was arrested in Rohnert Park, in Sonoma County south west of his Calistoga home. In that incident he was arrested at the In-N-Out Burger on Redwood drive with another woman, 41-year-old Misty Rodgers of Santa Rosa. He was then also charged with possession of narcotics for sale and for resisting or obstructing arrest. Rodgers, who has her own history of drug arrests in Santa Rosa, was picked up on an outstanding warrant. Rodgers had been arrested on October 28 with another woman and a young man at the Hampton Inn in Rohnert Park for drugs, probation violations, and resisting arrest.

Tiffany Corriea and Tyson Blakeley were both arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, concentrated cannabis for sale, and illegal billy clubs. Possession of hypodermic needles and a controlled substance (meth) were added to Blakeley’s charges. They were both booked at the Hill Road Correctional Facility in Lake County.

16 months later, Cardiff-By-The-Sea Flasher still at large and active

In December of 2012, the San Diego Sheriff”s office released a composite sketch of a man wanted for several indecent exposure incidents in the small town of Cardiff-By-The-Sea. He was never caught, and is thought to be up to it again, and in the same location.

Cardiff-By-The-Sea, also known as simply Cardiff, is a beach community on the Southern California coast just south of San Diego and is part of the city of Encinitas. It is known for great surfing, and when the tide is out, 50 yards of reefs that have great tide pools.

In December of 2012, the Sheriff’s Office alerted the public to at least three incidents of a man exposing himself to women at an apartment complex called Cardiff By The Sea Apartments, on Carol View Drive and Birmingham Drive. He was said to be a white man, about 25 to 30-years-old, with short, light brown hair. During those incidents he was described wearing only a hooded sweatshirt and naked from the waist down. He exposed himself to the victims while committing a “lewd act” upon himself. The suspect was never identified or captured, and in March of 2013 a new sketch was released, this time showing him with a light beard growth.

All of the known victims of the flasher have been in the Cardiff By The Sea apartments

All of the known victims of the flasher have been in the Cardiff By The Sea apartments

A woman who lives at the Apartments in the same area reported an encounter with him just 2 days ago, at 2 am on Saturday. She saw him in a hallway as he emerged from an exit door that leads to a dark hillside. He was completely naked this time, except for socks and a hood over his head. He followed her through the lighted hallway of the apartment complex. As before, he was said to be engaging in a lewd act, and apparently wished his victim to witness him while he did it. He paced back and forth, and stood and watched as she fumbled for her keys and phone. He stayed until she got in the apartment, never showing any signs of running away once he was seen.

She believed that since he was naked, he could not have come from far away, and may in fact be a resident of the complex, and further speculated that he may even live on the bottom floor of the building she was accosted in. She further described him as very pale, about 6 feet tall and about 30 years or younger. He was of average weight, with darker body hair compared to his light skin.

According to Psychology Today, the acts of this man are symptoms of a psychiatric condition known as exhibitionism, under the category known as “paraphilias”, involving sexual activity with non-consenting or inappropriate partners. A person in this category is typically male, and exposes himself to a woman or girl who is an unsuspecting stranger. They usually desire no further contact with their victim, and the condition usually manifests itself before 18 years of age, and tapers off in later years. People with this condition rarely seek help on their own, and usually only get treatment after they have been caught. Though they usually don’t attack or assault their victims, the sight of them can be very frighting and disturbing.

The Sheriff’s department is seeking the public’s help in locating this man. Anyone who has any information, or may recognize him from the composite image/sketch, may contact the Sheriff’s non emergency line at 858-565-5200.  People with info may also be eligible for a $1000 reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or online at San Diego Crime Stoppers

Officers of the Novato Police Department were called in late last Wednesday evening to break up a physical altercation between a local woman and man that left one of them with a vandalized car and minor injuries, as NPD Sergeant Jennifer Dunlap writes in an NPD press release.

Witnesses in a residential area on Shady Lane saw the man and woman arguing in the street in front of several homes. The victim called police headquarters in Novato to report the suspect “once she started vandalizing his vehicle,” according to NPD Lieutenant John McCarthy.NPD Officers Barnes, Carroll, Waite-McGough, and Cantley responded to the scene of the altercation at 11:30 p.m.

The officers found the woman, who was later identified as 30-year-old Novato resident Marissa Arias Cordova, attempting to drive a large kitchen knife repeatedly into the vehicle that belonged to the victim. McCarthy explained that the suspect most likely lives in the Shady Lane area, though her arrest report lists no specific residence. Officers immediately ordered Arias Cordovato drop the knife and detained her for further questioning. She was cooperative and continued to follow officers’ requests.

Police were called to Shady Lane on reports of the fight.

HAWTHORNE, CA—Ay, Chihuahua! It was a doggone shame that a soured marriage ended in the death of a dog and the birth of a litter of bad puns.

Michael David Parker, 46, of 13223 Huston Street in Sherman Oaks, California, was arrested on Friday, January 1 for one felony count of cruelty to an animal. According to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, he was also charged with animal cruelty and other counts. The L.A. County D.A. announced the charges on March 20.

The incident took place in an alley near El Segundo Boulevard and Doty Avenue in Hawthorne. The dog’s body was found days later in a bag by a passerby who reported it to police.

Police and news reports regarding the December 28, 2013 incident state that Parker used his vehicle as a deadly weapon to deliberately run over the small, 5 1/2-year old dog named “Cow Cow.” Video footage from the scene appear to substantiate the charge. Excerpts from two separate video angles of the incident show the 6’2”, 330-lb. Caucasian male apparently extracting something from the trunk of a dark four-door sedan. As he looks back to the rear of the vehicle, he enters the car. A small dog suddenly appears along the passenger side of the car and runs forward of the vehicle, then stands in front of it. Parker drives in reverse, aims the car at the dog and then clearly runs it down.

Both videos show the dog’s body left motionless in the alley as Parker continues driving onward and exits the alley.

The man’s allegedly estranged wife, Olga, has since stated she fears for her life and that of her three children.
