Nathan Randolph Braden, 34, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and other related charges.

According to Roseville PD, on Thursday, January 22 at about 3:30 am, a resident called 911 to report suspicious activity — someone taking things in and out of a rental truck in the Diamond Woods area. The resident reportedly thought the person was breaking into cars.

Upon arrival, officers found the rental truck had been stolen in Sacramento, and detained the driver after a short struggle. Inside the truck, officers reportedly found burglar’s tools and numerous pieces of stolen mail. They also found several cluster mailboxes that had been broken into in the Blue Oaks, East Roseville Parkway, and Olympus Pointe neighborhoods.

The US Postal Service Inspection authorities have reportedly been notified and will be investigating the theft of US mail as a Federal Offense.

This is not the first time Braden has run afoul of the law. Records show that on October 8 of last year he was arrested by Sacramento Police at his residence in Sacramento’s Tahoe Park on charges of possession of stolen property, and taking another person’s identification with the intent to defraud. In 2012 he was arrested for elder theft of an amount exceeding $400.00, along with conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and a narcotic controlled substance.

HAWTHORNE, CA—Most people aspire to climb the ladder as they go through life, but there are those who prefer to break the rungs as they slide down it.

Kem Luther Richards, 32, was stopped by Hawthorne police officers on Tuesday, January 20 at approximately 10:09 p.m. He was apprehended along the 4400 block of West 142nd Street in Hawthorne.

Police claimed he was in possession of less than 28.5 ounces of marijuana (11357(B)HS) as well as simple possession of a controlled substance (11377HS) and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (11364HS). He was apparently stopped for operating a bicycle on the wrong side of the road (21650.1VC) and not having the required lighting for operating the bike at night (21201(D)1VC). After getting stopped, it appears, he failed to present identification when requested by the arresting officers (40302(A)VC). Bail for the six new violations totaled $1,635.

It was found that the unemployed transient also had two prior warrants: one for a hit and run with property damage (20002(A)VC) and another for possession of a controlled substance: narcotic (11350HS). Both warrants were issued by the Los Angeles Police Department. Bail for the two priors totaled $25,000.

It is presumed that the hit and run was executed with a motor vehicle. The new charges evidently were executed while operating a bicycle unlawfully. For strike three, one wonders if it will involve jay-walking and alcohol.

Three suspects are reportedly in custody after trying to run from a stolen car they had been driving during a patrol stop, according to an official weekly crime report issued by the Roseville Police Department.

Brittany Rochelle Baldwin, 25, of Ceres, and Robert William Rank, 29, of Sacramento were reportedly arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, drug possession and other related charges. And Manuel Gustavo Herrera, 44, of Sacramento was reportedly booked and released for drug possession.

According to Roseville PD, on Tuesday, January 20 at 1:45 pm, a patrol officer checked on a car in the 1900 block of Douglas Boulevard, and found out it had been stolen from Sacramento. The officer followed, and then stopped the car in the 1600 block of Eureka Road.

Three people reportedly ran from the car in different directions. Officers rounded up two of them — Rank and Baldwin — fairly quickly, and they found the third suspect, Herrera, a couple of hours later in the 1600 block of Jordan Drive. Officers found methamphetamine and suspected shoplifted items from various stores in the stolen car.

Brittany Baldwin has been in frequent trouble over the past year. In July of last year she was arrested by Modesto Police for burglary, petty theft, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property. That was followed in August by and arrest by Ceres Police for battery and possession of a controlled substance. In October she was charged with petty theft, possession of a controlled substance and probation violations in an arrest by Ceres Police.

By December, she was in Sacramento and was arrested by Sac PD at the 19th Street Safeway shopping center for possession of a controlled substance. Robert Rank was with her then as well, and charged with possession of burglar’s tools and stolen property – a motor vehicle. At that time Rank claimed a residence in Modesto, but has since relocated to Sacramento. He claimed to be a student, while Baldwin listed her occupation as childcare or nanny. According their Facebook pages, they are engaged.

logo_home

In addition to his occupation as a student, for his latest arrest, Rank reported his occupation as fleet manager, and according to his Facebook page, he works for the family business Rank Investigations and Protection, where he claims to be both a fleet manager and K9 handler. His name is listed as one of three Ranks in the company website. Rank Investigations, according to their website and Facebook page provides security and investigative services, including vehicle recovery. Was he working as a “Repo Man” when arrested for these auto thefts? Perhaps, but it seems unlikely since he ran from the scene, and for the presence of drugs and stolen property in the car.

A number of drug-related arrests have been made in the Roseville area over the past week, according to an official weekly crime report issued by the Roseville Police Department.

On Monday, January 19 at 5 pm, officers reportedly conducted a probation search on a house in the 200 block of Duranta Street, where they found heroin, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Roseville residents Abel Eugene Sanchez, 33; Edward Siemon, 35; and Tammy Marie Milat, 33, were reportedly arrested on drug charges.

Both Siemon and Millat have been in trouble before in the past year. While living in Citrus Heights, Siemon was arrested in September and November 2014 on charges of possession of a controlled substance. In January, while listed as a transient, he was charged with possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia, and possession for sale, along with loitering and trespassing on private property.

And according to a story in the Roseville Press Tribune, on December 19, 2013, Roseville police were called to a convenience store on reports of a domestic violence incident. They found Siemon there, and he was carrying methamphetamine, and had a stolen laptop computer in his car. That arrest led investigators to Milat‘s home, the same location as the latest incident, and as a result, she was arrested on charges for possession of controlled substances, a firearms with controlled substances, stolen property, and keeping a place to sell or use controlled substances. Milat, however, was not the victim of the domestic violence incident, according to police.

In another Roseville incident, at about 3:30 am on Tuesday, January 20, officers reportedly stopped a car with four people inside on Industrial Avenue near the Santucci Justice Center. One of the passengers reportedly looked like he was trying to hide something, and then got into a scuffle with officers before running away across the railroad tracks into the open space area.

Placer County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from both Rocklin PD and Citrus Heights PD responded to help look for the suspect. At around 5 am, the passenger was reportedly seen walking about 2 miles away, on Foothills Boulevard near the Hewlett Packard building. Demarcus Patrick, 19, of Sacramento was reportedly arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, possessing narcotics, parole violation, and other related charges.

Records show Rodriguez several more times recently. He was charged with drug possession and carrying a concealed “dirk or dagger” in December. In November and July of last year he faced drug and paraphernalia possession charges. Just prior to that, in June, he was arrested for possessing stolen property, conspiracy, and drugs and paraphernalia. SANTA ROSA – According to a Community Bulletin issued by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, three county probation officers were working a special enforcement detail in the southwest area of Santa Rosa on Wednesday, January 28th at about 3:30 p.m.

The officers had observed a Honda occupied by Sureno gang members driving slowly on Barbara Drive. The car had been driving along side of a male wearing a red hat who was walking along the sidewalk. When the male in the red hat noticed the vehicle shadowing him he suddenly bolted and ran in the opposite direction of the car. The car accelerated away and stopped near the intersection of Eddy Drive and Robin Way.

A deputy stopped the Honda to investigate what had just transpired between the vehicle and the pedestrian. As he approached the vehicle he saw the three men within and then had eye contact with the driver in the mirror, who then sped off, squealing the tires as he left the scene. The car sped through the neighborhood at about 60 mph and blew through stop signs on Moorland Avenue.

WEST SACRAMENTO—Police have arrested a non-sworn probationary employee in West Sacramento for impersonating a peace officer.

On Tuesday, January 27, Ilaya Prozorov, 20, was jailed on suspicion of impersonating a peace officer. His termination from the department came after a swift internal investigation, said Doug Morse, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department.

Prozorov has been employed as a civilian community service officer for a little more than a month as a community service officer. He graduated from the department’s Basic Recruit Academy in December and was in field training as a community service officer.

One of the victims says he recorded a confrontation with Prozorov and got his license plate. For more than six minutes, Zabi Ahmadzi repeatedly asked Prozorov, who said he was a cop, to show him his badge.

Zabi: What are you, a cop?
Prozorov: I’m not talking to you anymore.
Zabi: Can I see the badge?
Prozorov: I’m not showing you anything

And Zabi says he never does.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, Prozorov graduated from their recruit academy and was currently in field training. He is being accused of impersonating a peace officer while on duty. A criminal and internal investigation remains underway.

A couple of Burciago’s roosters and his dog (Facebook)

It is apparent from Felix Burciago’s Facebook page that he likes boxing, restoring old cars, and cockfighting. One of those activities is illegal, and he was arrested for it last Saturday Afternoon.

Cockfighting, gamecock fighting or rooster fighting is an activity that involves raising or breeding roosters for strength and aggressiveness, outfitting them with sharp blades attached to their legs, sometimes given steroids to increase their energy and aggression, and put into a ring to fight another bird until death, or at least badly wounded. It has been widely recognized as cruel and inhumane treatment of animals, at least in the United States, and is illegal. In most, but not all states it is a felony. But it is still a popular and legal activity in many other countries, especially in some Latin America and Asian countries.

burciaga poster

There are even movements in the US to make it legal, and many supporters like to claim that the country’s founding fathers even enjoyed the sport, as is shown in the poster Buciago posted on his Facebook page (left). Politifact and others, however, have disputed their involvement, or at least their enthusiasm for cockfighting. It was going on back then, and there are mentions of it in some documents related to Washington, Jefferson, etc. And of course, it is still going on today, though under the shadow of illegality.

According to the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department, they received a report of an active cockfight going on in rural southwest Modesto, in the Riverdale Park area, near the Tuolumne River. Deputies responded to the home on Poland Road at 3:40 Saturday afternoon, January 24. They found resident Felix Buciago had a cockfighting ring set up, along with 50 roosters in cages, and three dead roosters, apparent losers of earlier fights.

While Animal Control officers took custody of the roosters, deputies arrested 42-year-old Burciago on charges of animal cruelty, keeping fighting animals or birds, and possession of implements for rooster or game cock fighting. Being a spectator at a cockfight is also illegal, but the crowd that had been reported earlier had left by then. Since his release pending court, Burciago already posted the founding fathers poster image to his Facebook page, with the words “Maybe i can president one day?”

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s office announced that a three month investigation led to the arrest of 40-year-old Stuart Staub of Guerneville on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography, according to Sergeant Cecile Focha.

The Sheriff’s Office is affiliated with the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children task force (SVICAC) which was established in 2003 by the US Department of Justice, which covers eleven Bay Area counties. They work with the FBI, Homeland Security, the Secret Service, and US Postal Inspector to investigate web-based child pornography, exploitation and abuse. They identified a suspect, and in a three month investigation, detectives from the Sheriff’s Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation unit obtained a search warrant for Staub’s apartment on Fern Road, off River Road in Guerneville. Guerneville is a small town along the Russian River in the forested hills between the Sonoma Valley and the coast.

The search warrant was initially served on Tuesday, December 23. A computer was seized and Staub and other occupants of the apartment were interviewed. Staub was not arrested at the time however, as the detectives intended to search the computer for evidence. A thorough forensic examination of Staub’s computer was conducted, and multiple images of child pornography were discovered. They shared their findings with the District Attorney’s office, and a warrant for arrest was issued.

Staub was arrested the day the warrant was issued, on Monday, January 26. He was arrested without incident at the apartment, booked at the Sonoma County Jail for possession of obscene matter involving minors. Bail was set at $30,000, which he posted and was then released, pending his next court date of February 4. Sergeant Focha said that the Sheriff’s Office “is proud of the dedicated men and women who work diligently to build strong cases against criminals who exploit the most vulnerable in our society.”

SAN BERNARDINO – An 18-year-old man was arrested for trying to light his ex-girlfriend on fire and physically assaulting her early Thursday morning after catching her with another man.

Police said that Eduardo Hulises Rios, of San Bernardino, set fire to his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend after showing up at her residence and discovering her with another man.

When officers arrived at 1952 North Genevieve Ave., they discovered that Rios found the victim, the mother of his child, sleeping on the couch. Rios, according to police, used a small amount of gasoline in a plastic bottle, poured it on the unidentified male, then lit the gasoline and the couch on fire. Both victims were asleep, said police.

Upon being lit on fire, the two victims jumped up and a physical altercation occurred while Rios punched the female victim in the face, which caused minor injuries. “(Rios) was still at the residence when the initial officer arrived,” said Lt. Rich Lawhead, spokesman for San Bernardino Police.

When additional police units arrived, Rios had fled the scene, he said. The initial officer was assisting the victims, which allowed Rios to escape.
The physical altercation spilled into the front yard, said Lawhead. The initial fire was put out before police arrived, he said.
Eventually, Rios was discovered on a nearby street and taken into custody, he said.

Rios was arrested on charges of arson, domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon and was being held at California Department of Corrections.

Evidence was obtained, according to Det. Michael Salazar, at Veach’s residence that led to her arrest which took place at 8:46 a.m. on January 27, according to reports.

The next day, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department reported the successful arrest of 22-year-old Tiffany Rose Pellerin for vehicle theft and driving with a suspended license.

She was arrested at the Ferguson Lighting store on Madison Avenue, according to official reports. The store is located right next to Niello Volvo and Future Ford auto dealers, and less than a mile from her apartment on Walnut Avenue. Further details of that incident were not available.

But the arrest on Thursday came just over a year from a prior arrest for vehicle theft. In that case, a car had been stolen from a Rocklin resident, and was reported to police. A Sacramento Sheriff’s deputy on routine patrol identified the stolen car by license plate, and when they attempted an enforcement stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, but soon struck a curb dividing two parking lots on Greentree Drive near Franklin. The car became disabled and Pellerin fled, leaving two passengers behind in the car. They reported her name, however, and she was soon located. She was arrested on January 15, 2014 for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and possessing stolen property (AKA – grand theft-auto).

One suspect is currently in custody following a fight at a Roseville boarding hotel, according to an official weekly crime report issued by Roseville Police Department.

McClennon Paige, 57, of Roseville, was reportedly arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and other related charges, and taken to jail.

According to Roseville PD, on Thursday, January 22, at about 1:30 am, officers were called to a fight in a boarding hotel in the 300 block of Lincoln Street, reportedly involving a man armed with a club and one victim potentially down on the ground. Upon arrival to the location, which is above the Boxing Donkey Irish Pub in Historic Old Town, officers heard screaming from inside and quickly made a plan — one officer armed himself with a beanbag shotgun, which was a “less lethal” weapon.

The officers entered the hotel together to look for the suspect and possible victims. As officers made their way through the hotel, they reportedly encountered a man walking towards them and pointing a rifle in their direction. The officers reportedly took cover as best they could by pressing into doorways and ducking into adjacent hallways. They yelled at the man repeatedly to drop this rifle, however the man did not respond and continued to hold the rifle at waist level.

While one officer provided cover with his handgun, the officer with the shotgun fired a beanbag round (rubber projectile) at the man. The round reportedly missed the man and hit the wall behind the suspect. However, after it was fired the man put his rifle down and officers quickly took him into custody.

Officers reportedly found the suspect was very drunk and had been fighting with his neighbors. He had reportedly hit one of his neighbors with a 2×4 board, threatened and fought with him, and then went back to his room and got his rifle. Officers later discovered the suspect’s rifle was not loaded.
