A high-speed chase that began when deputies tried to stop and question a man in connection with thefts at a Rancho Cucamonga Wal-Mart ended 60 miles away in Encino Friday night when the suspect steered the SUV he was driving onto a dead-end street and was taken into custody.
The chase began around 9:15 p.m. when San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies tried to stop the suspect in connection of reports of thefts from a Wal-Mart near Foothill Boulevard and Interstate 15 in Rancho Cucamonga, said Jody Miller, public information officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
