Wrapping up a month-long investigation, Yolo and Placer County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald Steven McNair and Matthew Lee Boyle on July 25 in connection with a pair of burglaries during which valuables worth more than $50,000 were stolen from the same victims.

Black Hawk Lane

Investigators believe McNair and Boyle first broke into a residence on Black Hawk Lane in a small, isolated subdivision  miles north of Davis’ city limits. Located off Road 29 in unincorporated Yolo County, the three square block tract of upscale homes is surrounded by miles of open country and woods.

The deputies allege that McNair and Boyle meticulously ransacked the Black Hawk Lane home. Unobserved by neighbors, the thieves made off with  furniture, fine art, electronics, sterling silver and personal belongings. Included in the thieves’ take was a laptop computer containing, investigators allege, detailed information about the victims’ vacation home that is located near Soda Springs in Placer County.

With the information they found, the burglars then targeted that residence as well.

However, the Yolo and Placer County detectives were able to recover many of the victims’ belongings after executing a search warrant at a Sacramento location.

Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto praised his “deputies’ tenacity and hard work in taking these burglars off the streets.”

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Yolo County Sheriff’s detectives at (530) 668-5212.
