A 43-year-old woman was shot to death Wednesday and San Jose police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Officers responded to the 2600 block of Ponselle Court on a report of a person shot at about 1:30 p.m. yesterday. Upon arrival, they located the victim inside a residence. She had been shot at least once and was transported to Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police have identified the victim as San Jose resident Anna Duong.
Officials say there are currently no suspects in the case and a motive for the shooting is unknown. Detectives say the victim was well-known in the neighborhood and operated a convenience-type store out of her home, from which she sold snacks and other small items. She was the mother of a 12-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl, who are now being cared for by family members.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at (408) 277-5283. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-7867.
