Seven Arrested in a Two-County Drug Bust

SANTA MARIA – A handful of people were arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of transporting and selling methamphetamine after authorities served a series of search and arrest warrants.

The warrants were served May 22 in north Santa Barbara County and neighboring San Luis Obispo County, where seven people were taken into custody, police said.

Arrested were Isidro Silva Aguilar, 39, Rosa Rodriguez De Oropeza, 45, Zacarias Compos Corona, 44, Josue Levi Martinez, 36, Victoria Magana Gutierrez, 49, Jose Juan Medina, 31, and Juan Daniel Hernandez-Saenz, 19.

A large amount of cash was also seized at several locations in Santa Maria, with warrants served in Atascadero, San Miguel, Paso Robles, Santa Maria, and other places, police said.

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the two-county operation and numerous other individuals were also taken into custody in San Luis Obispo County by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for charges not related to the alleged drug sales.
