SANTA MARIA – A man is in jail on two felony charges after he allegedly attacked a store employee during the early morning of May 9th.
Officers were called to the 2300 block of Meredith Lane just after 8 a.m. on Thursday for reports of an assault on an employee at the location. The suspect, 28 years-old Mark Daniel Hunt was involved in a verbal argument with a 60-year-old employee at the scene.
According to police, the verbal altercation escalated into a physical confrontation between Hunt and the unidentified victim, who was moderately injured during the alleged assault.
Hunt, who didn’t use a weapon during the physical assault, was arrested at the location and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of attempted murder and making criminal threats. The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening, police said.
