Victor R. Torres, 23

The Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency can say they found a hidden treasure as they worked from an anonymous tip. The treasure weighted about 290 pounds, but it wasn’t in gold, it was in meth bags.

As an undercover investigator for the Modesto Narcotic Enforcement Team said, “As far as the dealers are concerned, these are high-end, high-level dealers with this much weight in meth.”

The agents say they found the drugs during a search of a home in Ceres, on Tuesday and, according to the agency spokesman, this is the largest discovery in the past 40 years. The street value of the meth found is $9,000 per pound which makes the value of meth found to be about $2.6 million. In addition to meth, detectives found $66,000 in cash.

Luis Sandavol, 23

The bust led to the arrest of two suspects, Victor Ramiro Torres, 23, of Ceres and Luis Bartolo Madriz Sandavol, 32, of Everett, Washington, near the home. Both were booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for possession of methamphetamine for sale and transportation of methamphetamine.
