Piedmont Police Officer Steve DeWarns became suspicious at 5:30 p.m. Saturday when the occupants of a white 1994 Crown Victoria saw him and suddenly pulled over at Nova Drive and Magnolia Avenue.
The five people immediately got out of the car, which a quick check revealed as having been stolen in Oakland, said Police Captain Scott Wyatt.
