The three boys who have been accused of carjacking, kidnapping and attempted murder in Exeter were brought back to Tulare County on Tuesday after fleeing to Las Vegas, police said.
The teenage boys, who range in age from 13 to 17, are suspects in a carjacking that happened on April 4 in a rural area near Exeter around 4:10 p.m. Four boys confronted a 24-year-old woman doing a delivery and forced her by gunpoint into a home. The boys then tied up the woman, stole her car and took some cash, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said.
The woman sustained non life-threatening injuries, for which she was treated and released.
On April 7, officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department arrested suspect Pete Spray, 17, at a local business in Las Vegas for unrelated charges. Officers were also able to recover the stolen 2005 Mazda Hatchback, which was in a parking lot.
A search in the surrounding area for the other suspects involved came up empty. Spray was booked in the Las Vegas Juvenile Hall on a Tulare County warrant for attempted homicide, kidnapping and carjacking, authorities said.
U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas soon found and arrested the other boys linked to the carjacking incident: Logan Heath, 13, Ronald “RJ” Jones, 13, and Wyatt Valle, 14.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department had previously released the juveniles name in an effort to get the public’s help in finding them.
