The San Jose Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a robbery suspect who was last seen at a Kohl’s department store, located at 890 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose.

According to police, on Wednesday, June 17, the suspect entered Kohl’s, and began to walk around the racks looking at men’s clothing. He then chose several items from the rack, and tried to conceal them as he exited the store without paying for the merchandise. According to Press Information Officer Albert Morales with the SJPD, “When the suspect was contacted by Kohl’s loss prevention employees, the suspect reached for his waistband as if concealing a firearm and made a threatening statement.” The loss prevention employee had no choice but to let the suspect go. He was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.

Police are describing the suspect as a Hispanic-American Male between 5’4″ – 5’8″ tall weighting approximately 165-185 pounds. He was last seen wearing black t-shirt and blue jeans. Store surveillance footage also showed the suspect with a distinctive tattoo of a large teal shark fin on the back of his neck, and what appears to be a pitbull with spike collar tattoo (or similar) on the side of his neck. No further information is being provided at this time.

The San Jose Police Department is asking that anyone with information regarding the incident to please contact the San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit at (408) 277-4166 or Officer Sandoval by email at 4078@sanjoseca.gov.
