Man Stabs Victim, Victim Dies

POMONA – On Wednesday June 24th, Pomona officers were called upon to investigate a stabbing on the 1700 block of E. Mission Blvd that occurred at 10:29 p.m. The victim was reported to have multiple stab wounds. A few of those wounds proved to be vital, as he was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody knew the suspect’s motives for the stabbing, but the murdered victim was not the only one that was stabbed that night. According to the report, another victim was stabbed by the same suspect two minutes prior to the murder. That victim was stabbed repeatedly in the torso, and was rushed to the hospital right after the incident. He was in critical condition. Investigators are still not completley sure if the two stabbing are related, but they are believed to be related.

The murdered victim was identified as 36-year-old Albert Daniel Herrera, a Pomona resident. The other victim’s name was held as confidential, but is said to be a 36-year-old man.

The suspect has been identified as today, July 1, with the name of George Hernandez, 46, who is a Pomona resident as well.

Hernandez has been charged with murder by The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, and is waiting for the court proceedings. He is  currently being held at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.
