SANTA MARIA – Police are searching for two men that allegedly beat and stabbed a 19-year-old man Monday evening as he was walking on the street.

Looking Down S. Miller Street

Investigators were called to the 1900 block of South Miller Street just after 10 p.m. and discovered a Hispanic male, who had been approached and attacked by two unidentified men, police said.

The victim was walking southbound on Miller Street when the alleged assailants got out of a compact sedan and began punching and kicking the victim, who was stabbed once in the leg with an unknown object, police said.

Both suspects fled the area prior to the arrival of police, and the victim was transported to Marian Medical Center, where he’s listed in stable condition. Police are withholding the name of the victim.

The victim couldn’t provide officers with a description of his attackers or the vehicle they were driving, however, he did say the sedan had chrome wheels, according to police.

The incident is under investigation, and anyone with information about the alleged attack is urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department at (805) 928-3781. Anonymous tips can also be made by calling CrimeStoppers at 1-877-800-9100.
