78 arrests were made during two recent sweeps conducted by gang officers in Pomona.
78 Arrests, 59 Felonies
Confiscation of drugs and guns were also made alongside the many arrests. These sweeps were conduced after a blight on the normative peace of the city tainted the crime books.
A sudden eruption of homicides induced the local authorities to beef up security in the area.
This massive sweep was a success in the cleaning up and prevention of a large portion of potential additional crimes committed on the general public.
The arrests were made as they were either crimes that were in progress or already committed.
Authorities believe that this brazen rash of crime is not due to random acts of violence but may be related to racial tensions between segregated gangs of the area.
