SLO Sheriff’s deputies caught two suspects who allegedly robbed a mobile-marijuana-dispensary employee on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office press release, they received a call regarding a robbery in Los Osos around 3:25 p.m.

The 27-year-old victim, Avery Loran Fitch, who is a transient, told the deputies that she was working out of her car for a Sonoma County-based mobile-marijuana dispensary when the two black male adults approached her. Fitch told deputies the unarmed suspects took marijuana and money from her and fled on foot. She was not injured during the robbery.

Lane Davon Phillips, 20

According to the press release, a sheriff’s detective spotted the suspects in a car and then performed a high-risk felony stop. The two male suspects, McKinley Ray Thomas, 19, of Los Osos and Lane Davon Phillips, 20, of Madera along with an unidentified 15-year-old female juvenile were detained at gunpoint in their car on State Park Road in Morro Bay.

Thomas and Phillips were arrested and charged with grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime. The 15-year-old juvenile was charged with a count of accessory after a crime was committed. Investigators say the marijuana and the money were recovered.

Investigators also determined that Fitch was involved in the crime as well. The robbery was staged to steal money and marijuana from her employer. Fitch was arrested and charged with one count of grand theft and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime.
