An Alameda County Sheriff’s sergeant shot and injured a 50-year-old man Friday night after he told them he was going to shoot “everyone,” including them, if they came to his house.
The man, who as of 9:30 p.m. Friday was in surgery at Eden Medical Center, had been “acting bizarre,” according to frightened family members who called police for help around 7 p.m., according to sheriff’s spokesman J.D. Nelson.
As deputies were on the way to the residence in the 3400 block of Lake Chabot Road, the man, who is on probation for a felony weapons violation, called police and made the shooting threats. Police haven’t yet released his name.
