ARROYO GRANDE – A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon after sheriff’s deputies responded to her rural Arroyo Grande home, where she was allegedly fighting with her husband.

Mary Bowdey

Just before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a young female stating that her parents were fighting at their home in the 400 block of Corralitos Road.

When deputies arrived at the residence, they allegedly found Mary Alyson Bowdey, 45, engaged in a physical altercation with her husband, who was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non life-threatening cut wounds, police said.

Bowdey was arrested at the scene for assaulting her husband and booked at County Jail. Two young children were in the home at the time of the incident, although they weren’t part of the fight and not injured. They are now in the custody of Child Welfare Service, police said.
