Milpitas police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in two separate bank robberies that took place earlier this month.

Surveillance images of the US Bank robber

Police say that on March 5 at about 4:30 p.m., a suspect entered US Bank on Landess Avenue and handed the teller a note requesting money. The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as being Hispanic, between 6’ and 6’2”, 200 to 300 pounds, and about 25 years old. He was wearing a blue California Berkeley hooded jacket and a black Pittsburgh Pirates hat, sunglasses, and black pants.

Four days later, on March 9, a suspect entered Chase Bank on North Milpitas Boulevard at about 2 p.m. and handed the teller a demand note. Police say the suspect indicated that he had a gun and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect in the second robbery was described as a white man in his mid-40s, wearing a black San Francisco Giants baseball cap, gray jacket, blue shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.

Both suspects were caught on the banks’ surveillance cameras and Milpitas police have released the images with the hope that someone will be able to identify them.

Anyone with information on the robberies or the identities of the suspects is urged to contact Milpitas police at (408) 586-2400 or the anonymous tip line at (408) 586-2500.
