SANTA MARIA - An unidentified male in his 30s was allegedly kidnapped, threatened with a weapon and robbed before his weekend even began, according to the Police Department.
The 33-year-old victim, whose name police are not releasing, was abducted and relocated to a home on the north side of the city approximately 6:OO pm on Friday, Feb. 8, where he was robbed of his personal property and held against his will. He was later allegedly forced into a vehicle by the three suspects, who threatened him with a weapon when he tried to escape, police said.
The three suspects eventually released the victim just before 7:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Western, where he contacted law enforcement.
Police located two of the suspects, Jose Arredondo, 19, and Annabel Hilario, 20, driving around Santa Maria in the same vehicle that they allegedly forced the victim into. They were arrested without incident and booked at Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment, police said.
Officers later served a search warrant at a residence in Santa Maria, where they located the third suspect, Juan Hilario, 22, who was also arrested and booked at County Jail on charges of kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment. All three suspects also face charges of gang enhancement connected to the incident.
