The San Luis Obispo Police Department has been investigating a series of daytime residential burglaries occurring since December through the present day.

According to SLOPD, most of the daytime burglaries occurred sometime between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. and many of the items stolen included jewelry, cash, computers and other electronics, and many other items of value. According to some reports police say the suspects in these crimes are knocking on the door of their intended victims to see if anyone is home. If they are contacted they may ask for someone who does not live at the address. Police say when the suspects feel it is safe they will enter the residence by forcing open the rear doors and windows or by finding ones that are left insecure.

Six daytime residential burglaries, similar in nature, have been reported since December 2012, the most recent one occurring  in the 2300 block of Flora Street.

During the incident, the home owner interrupted two suspects who were in the process of burglarizing the residence.  The first suspect was described as a male Hispanic adult in his late 20’s with black hair and a black mustache. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black baggy pants. The second suspect was described as a male Hispanic adult, wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.

Police are asking anyone who sees any suspicious activity, particularly in residential neighborhoods during daytime hours, to immediately notify the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Police also ask for citizens not to confront anyone suspected of committing any illegal activity.
