Suspect Matches the Description of the Person who Robbed two other Restaurants
McDonalds on Williams in Salinas. The suspect used the drive-thru window to enter and exit the building.
SALINAS—Salinas Police are still looking for their suspect in a series of McDonald’s Restaurants robberies that have occurred in Salinas.
On Early Saturday morning, Salinas Police responded to a report of a possible robbery at the McDonald’s on Williams Road in East Salinas. The Restaurant was still open at two in the morning.
Officers approached the restaurant, and one tried to go in. When he reached the front door he saw the suspect. When the suspect saw the officer he immediately raised a handgun and pointed it at him.
The officer stepped back and took cover, then he witnessed the suspect run towards the drive–thru window and exit the building. The suspect ran across Williams Road towards Wiren Street. He then robbed a couple that was sitting in their car on Bardin Circle.
The Suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Meanwhile, officers interviewed witnesses as they tried to ascertain what had happened in the McDonald’s. According to witnesses the suspect threw a large rock through the drive-thru window and then climbed into the restaurant.
Bardin Circle. After leaving McDonalds, the suspect robbed two more people parked in this neighborhood, just a block from the restaurant.
When the suspect made entry he was carrying a black backpack. Witnesses described him as a male adult in his mid 30’s, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black color beanie and some type of ski goggles.
“The suspect in this incident matches the description of a person of interest in two previous robberies of McDonald’s Restaurants in Salinas.” Salinas Police Commander Henry Gomez said.
The suspect had gotten an undisclosed amount of cash from the restaurant before responding officers got there.
