A Palo Alto man who allegedly caused a fatal car crash near San Jose International Airport is now facing homicide charges.

Danny Coleman is accused of causing the fatal crash while evading a CHP pursuit.

Danny Coleman, 24, crashed his Mercedes-Benz on Sept. 2 into a car occupied by two women who were on their way to work at the airport. The women, Carmen Zavala, 63, and Alvaro DeLeon, 62, were both San Jose residents. Investigators aren’t saying what evidence prompted them to seek homicide charges.

Highway Patrol Officers spotted Coleman on Sept. 2 speeding on Highway 101. They pursued, but maintained distance for safety reasons, and came upon the fatal collision shortly after it occurred, according to media reports.

Coleman was arrested in Union City on Friday, 18 days after the incident, after police used vehicle registration information to track him down.
