An Arizona woman was arrested near Santa Ana Saturday after the bodies of her two young children were found in a hotel room.
Marilyn Edge, 42, now faces two murder charges. She was booked by Santa Ana police, and has been on jail suicide watch since the arrest, according to local media reports.
Police responded after Edge crashed her vehicle into poles surrounding an electrical box in a shopping center about 6 miles from Santa Ana. She then tried to choke herself with electrical cords as emergency responders attempted to pry her from the vehicle.
As of Monday police had not released any information about how the children were killed. The bodies of her 10-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son were found at the Hampton Inn & Suites near the 55 freeway.
Investigators have searched the hotel room, and revealed that they did not find a murder weapon.
