After contacting occupants of a car parked at a freeway rest stop near Dunnigan in northern Yolo County, Yolo Sheriff’s deputies arrested four suspects on drug and conspiracy charges.
Sheriff’s spokesman Mark Persons said the contact was made at about 11:15 pm on September 8 due to the deputies detecting a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
The occupants gave the deputies permission to search their vehicle. Inside the vehicle, 446 grams of methamphetamine came to light. That volume of meth, 446 grams, is equivalent to 15.6 ounces, or approximately a pint. The illegal psycho-stimulant was estimated, Persons said, to have a street value of approximately $16,000.
Subsequent to the search, deputies arrested Jorge Luis Flores, 27, Kyle Justin Farmer, 19, and Marie Felix Gamez, 23, all residents of Corning, along with Brandon Joseph Farmer, 19, who resides in Clements, a village east of Lodi.
Charges filed against the four suspects included suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, transport and/or sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Bail was set individually at $200,000 for each suspect. They were all scheduled to be arraigned by September 11 in Yolo County Superior Court.
