DESERT HOT SPRINGS- After flagging down a car and attempting to steal the vehicle at gunpoint, a Desert Hot Springs felon was taken into custody.

On Monday in an unincorporated county area of Desert Hot Springs near Avenida Manzana and Camino Campesino a driver was waved to a halt by a man in the road. The driver reported that once he stopped, the pedestrian opened the door to his vehicle and brandished a gun. The suspect then demanded that the driver relinquish the vehicle. When the victim refused, the suspect grabbed property from inside the vehicle and ran away from the scene.

At around 2:35 PM, deputies from the Palm Desert Station responded to the victim’s report of experiencing an armed robbery and attempted carjacking . Members of the Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) also responded to the scene, assisting patrol personnel. Further investigation into the scene and the crime led authorities to believe that the suspect was 18-year-old Elijah Long, a Desert Hot Springs resident.

Authorities were familiar with Long and according to Sergeant Aaron Eller, the suspect was known to frequent the 66000 block of Joshua Court in Desert Hot Springs at a property which was very near to the scene of the crime. Officers put the residence under surveillance and several hours later spotted Long exiting.

Long was taken into custody without incident and the property was searched. At this time deputies discovered a handgun. During a follow-up search, the officers were also able to locate ammunition and what they believed to be stolen identifications.

Long was arrested for armed robbery, attempted carjacking, and for being a felon in possession of ammunition. He was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

Auto Theft suspect plows into fire-hydrant flooding street

MILPITAS – A red Honda Accord was found at the scene by Milpitas Police Officers after a report of a car hitting a fire hydrant located near 1300 block of Dempsey Road near French Court. The car’s driver, 26-year-old Anthony Munoz Guzman, faces two charges of Grand Theft Auto under VC 10851, Vehicle theft with a prior conviction, and VC 20002 (a) (1) – VC20002 (a) (2), hit and run associated with the theft of the vehicle.

Auto Theft

On Saturday, June 21 Milpitas Police Department Officers were called to the area of Dempsey Road and French Court. A female witness told MPD Officers that she was in her home when she heard tires screeching and then a “big boom”. She came out of her home to see a male driver standing next to the vehicle looking dazed and confused. She noticed that the male suspect opened the trunk and grabbed a few items and then began to walk away on foot. The male Hispanic suspect had hit a fire hydrant, and she thought this was very suspicious as the he began to walk through some bushes, apparently abandoning the vehicle. It was thought Guzman had jumped over a fence in order to get out of the area. He was soon found by responding officers walking along Dempsey Road.

A report run on the red Honda revealed that it had been stolen out of the City of San Jose. The owner was called and confirmed that the vehicle was possibly theirs and that it had been stolen. After Guzman was located walking in the surrounding neighborhood, he was subsequently detained and then transported to Santa Clara Main Jail. Two backpacks were found near where he was located. Inside one of the backpacks was a pre-booking sheet with the name Anthony Guzman, and an Aladdin Bail Bonds document had also been found.

revoked

Guzman’s recent arrest records show he was picked up in May for vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools, and then in June for burglary and possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, impersonating someone else, and an outstanding warrant.

In most cases a scheduled bail amount is given for the possible release of a suspect being charged with a crime. The court identifies the charges with the “setting of a reasonable bail amount”, according to the Honorable Deborah A. Ryan. A forfeiture of bail can be applied after a suspect has failed to appear in court.  Forfeiture can also be applied when setting a bail standard, which would place a hold on a suspect’s release upon revocation of probation.

Guzman was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara Main Jail on new auto theft charges. Guzman’s next court appearance has been scheduled for July 29 at 9:00 am in Dept 38.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY – According to Tiyen Lin, Deputy District Attorney of the Consumer Protection Unit, “In a settlement filed this month with the court, the corporate parent of O’Reilly Auto Parts agreed to pay more than $1.5 million in penalties, restitution and investigation costs to settle a prosecutors’ consumer protection case that alleged that the company overcharged hundreds of customers”.

Deputy D.A.Lin added “The suit, brought by four California prosecutors’ offices including the Santa Clara County District Attorney, alleged that in many instances the company was not applying sale prices and discounts at checkout. The suit also accused the company of failing to comply with the terms of another overcharging case against it, just six years ago”.

“Pricing accuracy is expected by consumers, in fact it’s the law,” Lin said. “And it’s good for business.”

The District Attorney’s Office ended with the settlement of more than $1.5 million that followed a three-year investigation into the allegations of failure to rebate customers by the Department of Agriculture Weights and Measures, in cooperation with Santa Clara County, San Bernardino, Santa Cruz Counties and the City of San Diego.

The CSK AUTO is the Delaware corporation that operates automotive parts stores including more than 480 O’Reilly Auto Parts (formerly Kragen) stores in California. The investigators uncovered hundreds of violations, including the overcharge of anti-freeze and motor oil.

Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Tiyen Lin said, “The District Attorney’s Office reminds consumers to always check receipts to verify that they are charged the correct price for an item”.

Consumers in Santa Clara County who are the victim of a price overcharge should call the Scanner Hotline toll-free at 1-866-SCANNER (1-866-722-6637).

Fireman lights the way in the darkness

A Redding police sergeant driving through through north Redding along Twin View Boulevard just past Constitution at 4 am Thursday morning must have thought he was approaching the scene of an accident as he saw glowing lights in the middle of the roadway ahead. But it was nothing of the kind.

Clint Bell, self proclaimed fireman and charged arsonist.

Clint Bell, self proclaimed fireman and charged arsonist.

According to a Redding PD press release, as it turned out, Sergeant Mike Wood actually came across a half dozen small campfires set in the middle of the roadway, along the double yellow lines. stopping to investigate this bizarre situation, he soon encountered a man walking south on the road, and detained him. The man was 44-year-old Clint Michael Bell of Shasta Lake City, a town just a few miles north of Redding.

Sergeant Wood contacted Redding Fire to respond to the burning fires, and they found a total of 12 similar fires had been set along the roadway, but no vegetation or buildings were affected.

It was discovered the Bell had gone to a business nearby, bought gas and a container, and walked along the road setting fires as he went. He claimed that he himself was a firefighter, and he specialized in fighting wildland fires. He claimed he was simply trying to light his way in the darkness.

Bell’s story lends itself to a certain amount of skepticism, especially to the firefighters on the scene, no doubt. His own past record of recent arrests shows one last November for possession of narcotics, and two DUI’s in December and January. In any case, Bell was arrested and booked at the Shasta County jail charged with arson.

Two Suspects Arrested for Landscape Maintenance Theft

Two Sacramento men have reportedly been arrested for stealing equipment from a landscaper, according to an official press release from the Roseville Police Department.

Shafeeq Jamal Purdy, and Christopher Darnell Ross

Shafeeq Jamal Purdy, and Christopher Darnell Ross

Shafeeq Jamal Purdy, 32, and Christopher Darnell Ross, 20, both of Sacramento, were reportedly arrested Friday, July 11 on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy, and possession of burglar’s tools. Purdy was also charged with delaying or obstructing police officers.

According to Roseville PD, on Friday, July 11, 2014, officers conducted a special operation to address a recent increase in thefts from landscape maintenance crews, and set up stings in areas that had been identified where more thefts were likely to occur. Just before 11 am, officers on a stakeout reportedly noticed a car cruising slowly through a neighborhood. The officers reportedly watched two people get out of the car and take tools from a landscaper’s trailer on Park Regency Drive.

Officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, Ross, on Junction Boulevard. However, the passenger, Purdy, reportedly got out of the vehicle and began to run, jumping over a retaining wall and through yards in the adjacent neighborhood. After a search, officers reportedly found the second suspect in a yard in the 1800 block of Grouse Run Circle, and he was reportedly taken into custody without further incident. The stolen property was reportedly recovered and returned to the victim.

Purdy’s instinct to run from officers may stem from his extensive record over the years. In 2006 he was already on probation, and was arrested for a felony violation of the terms, and in 2009 he was charged with reckless driving. In 2011 he faced domestic violence charges, along with driving without a license and an unregistered vehicle. In 2013 he had additional domestic violence charges along with possession of burglar’s tools and a failure to appear in court.

Underage alcohol snafu results in two arrests

FOLSOM — There’s a program known as the Decoy Alcohol Purchase Operation. It and others like it are established for the express purpose of popping various business establishments for knowingly providing alcohol to minors. Under direct supervision of a peace officer, a minor will attempt to purchase alcohol from a licensed establishment — without using false identification of any kind.

Such was the set-up for what follows.

On June 11, two businesses bit the hook — the Chevron gas station at 1020 Riley Street and 76 Station & Convenience Store at 1024 E. Bidwell Street — resulting in the arrests of Michael Salto (19) and Sierra Edwards (30) respectively, both of Folsom.

“Our goal is to have zero violations when a minor tries to buy alcohol,” said Folsom PD (Special Investigations Unit) Sgt. Eric Heichlinger in a press release. He added that Folsom PD also partners with ABC to provide free training to licensed establishments on how to avoid such things in the future — namely, not selling alcohol to anyone under 21. Any employee who violates the rule is cited, saddled with a minimum $1000 fine and 24 hours of community service.

Folsom PD’s involvement in the operation ties back to a unique community partnership, the Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant (SPF-SIG). SPF-SIG is a state-funded grant to reduce excessive drinking among 12-to-25-year-olds by shifting the focus to environmental-level strategies. Twelve communities, including Folsom, were selected to take part.

Authorities believe there are more victims

SANTA CRUZ—Authorities with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s announced Friday that they have arrested a Sunnyvale man for soliciting young female teenagers to send him provocative photographs through texting.

Authorities arrested 29-year-old student Scott Joseph Angelo at his home in Sunnyvale.  He now faces charges ranging from lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, to possession of obscene material.

Investigators with both Santa Cruz and Santa Clara Counties have linked Angelo to four additional cases in Santa Cruz County.  They also believed that he is responsible for incidents in the states of Indiana and Maryland.

Actual text from Angelo recovered by detectives.

Actual text from Angelo recovered by detectives.

When deputies arrested Angelo they searched his home and found over 50 pictures of the victims in Santa Cruz County cases that were solicited by him. Authorities have evidence that he would text the teens and pose as a relative, in some cases as the teen’s own father. He claimed that his company had changed his work’s cell phone number. He would also inform the teen that a co-worker’s daughter needed help promoting a swimsuit line, and asked if she would be interested in modeling.

Angelo would then give the teens a phone number to the fictitious company. They would talk to a customer service representative, who was actually Angelo.  He convinced and directed the teens to take provocative photos of themselves and send them to him.

“We have to remind everyone out there, please do not respond to electronic request for anything that should remain private.” Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Kennedy said, “There are just too many scams out there to take advantage of people, and some of guys are really sophisticated.”

Angelo was arrested at his home in Sunnyvale without incident, and taken back to Santa Cruz County and booked in the County Jail. His bail was set at 50,000.00. He faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, possession of harmful material of a minor, acquiring harmful material through email, and annoying or molesting a child under the age of eighteen.

Investigators are still investigating this case and believe that there are still more victims. Anyone who believes they have being a victim of Scott Angelo, or have information about this case may contact Authorities at the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office at 1-831-454-7622, and speak with Detective Skalland.

REDLANDS – Police arrested an attempted murder suspect last week after piecing together a string of connections that led to his location.

Jeffrey Thomas Moore, 27, reportedly stabbed a 29-year-old Redlands man in the 900 block of College Ave. on May 25. Redlands police spokesman Carl Baker said the unidentified victim had been stabbed in the neck with an unknown object.

Baker said the man survived the injuries, though did not disclose his current condition. The Redlands Police Multiple Enforcement Team spotted a car that was believed associated with Moore in the parking lot of an area motel on July 9.

“As they were checking the vehicle,” said Baker, “officers spotted Moore exiting a room in the motel.” Moore tried to flee on foot, but the officers chased him down, taking him into custody at a nearby trailer rental business. Police had spotted Moore at the Super 8 Motel at 1160 Arizona St. at 11:15 p.m.

When police searched Moore, they discovered five grams of methamphetamine and, in an additional search of his motel room, found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his backpack, said Baker.
Moore was arrested for attempted murder, possession of narcotics and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, plus evading a police officer.

Three other people in the motel room were arrested as accessories after the fact, said Baker, plus additional drug charges and parole violations. Moore, who is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, is being held on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear in court sometime this week.

TWENTYNINE PALMS – Law enforcement agencies have exhausted multiple resources while spreading an exhaustive search for a missing pregnant teen-ager over more than 200 square miles of remote desert. Her disappearance, says law enforcement officials, does not appear to be volunteer.

Erin Corwin, 19, is still missing, says county sheriff’s in Friday’s latest update. Corwin, who is pregnant, initially came up missing on Saturday, June 28. Two days later, her car was discovered near the back entrance of a U.S. Marine Corps Air Combat Center. “She was last seen leaving her Twentynine Palms’ home en route to Joshua Tree National Forest,” said Sgt. Trevis Newport. She left at 7 a.m.
One day later, her husband reported her missing, he said.

An extensive air and ground search began immediately, using volunteers along with search and rescue teams. San Bernardino Sheriff’s Homicide Detail was also asked to assist.
Corwin, who is 5-feet, 2-inches, weighing 120 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes, was three months pregnant, according to reports. She was last seen driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla, blue, with California license plates (7CJX519).

Authorities said Corwin has no history of medical or psychological issues.Twentynine Palms, located in San Bernardino County, is near a U.S. Marine Base. The search area was conducted around the Joshua Tree National Park, which is located about 25 miles from Corwin’s home.

Information released during the search, said Newport, “has been minimal due to the suspicious nature of Erin’s disappearance. It could turn into a criminal investigation,” he said. “Information released about the search techniques, search areas and interviews will be minimal.” There has been no sign of Corwin, nor does her disappearance appear to be voluntary, he said.

Rescue volunteers from areas – San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Kern counties, National Park Service Rangers, plus area law enforcement agencies – have taken part in the search. U.S. Marines have also taken part in the search, said authorities.

Authorities Say They Were Targeted

SAN BENITO COUNTY—Authorities with the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals after a home invasion robbery was reported near the county line on Bridge Road. Arrested were Monique Marie Valle of San Jose, Stephanie Elaine Smith of Milpitas and David Andrew Hinnen of Sacramento. All suspects were 22-years-old.

Just after 12 am on Tuesday morning, July 8, The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of Bridge Road on a report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred. According to the victim, he was home alone when two individuals he did not know entered his home. One had a handgun and pointed it at him while the other one bound him.

One suspect searched the house for undisclosed items. The resident was punched during the assault but did not receive any injuries. After a few minutes, both suspects fled the home and the victim saw them get into a waiting vehicle.

The victim, now free from bondage, pursed the three suspects in his own vehicle and was able to give the police his position thanks to his vehicle’s On-Star system. San Benito County Sheriff’s Deputies located the suspect vehicle near Highway 156 and Highway 25. After a short pursuit the deputies were able to stop the vehicle just south of Bolsa Road and Highway 25.  A high-risk stop was performed and all three suspects were arrested and transported to San Benito County Jail.

“This was not a random act.” San Benito County Sheriff’s Captain Eric Taylor said, “The victim was specifically targeted.” A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed numerous items from the home invasion robbery that implicated them as being involved in the crime.

Stephanie Smith, one of the two women arrested, is the owner of Ambitious Ink tattoos in San Jose. Her biography from her website – hussbaby.com – reads “You all may know me as Huss Baby but my real name is Stephanie Smith owner of Ambitious Ink Tattoos. I’ve been in the tattoo industry since September of 2009. I specialize in custom work & love to do color. Check out my work & hope one day you & your people can come get inked up!” On July 7, the night she and the others are accused of the robbery, she posted a message on her Facebook page “& if I die tonight I hope I die a legend”.

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this incident and is asking anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Office at 1831-636-4080.

Suspect Arrested in Another San Bernardino Murder

SAN BERNARDINO – The rash of fatal shootings continued early Sunday morning when a teen-ager was gunned down during a party here.

Police arrested Darin Couzens, 25, of San Bernardino when he presented himself for treatment at an area hospital. Couzens, witnesses told police, had been wounded during the shooting. Tomanisha Nichols, 19, was shot by Couzens at 12:48 a.m. in the 4000 block of North E St., which is an unincorporated part of San Bernardino County. It was the fifth murder this month, authorities said.

Witnesses told police that Nichols, who was on her cell phone when she was struck by the bullet, may have been involved in an altercation with Couzens that led to the shooting. Couzens fled the scene, said police, and was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, which is in the neighboring city to San Bernardino. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Couzens at the hospital. No motive was listed for the shooting.

Couzens, who is being held without bail, is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Charged with murder, Couzens is expected in court this week. It was the 31st murder in 2014 and the pattern seems to be headed toward a number higher than last year’s total of 46. There were 47 murders in 2012. San Bernardino Police Dept. spokesman, Lt. Rich Lawhead, had listed the recent murders that have taken place within city limits.

On July 9, Juan Carlos Villapudua, 27, of San Bernardino was pronounced dead after being shot in the 2800 block of Rialto Ave. Lawhead said that people near the victim likely took his wallet and other items before police arrived. The articles were recovered by police, who said Villapudua had a history of drug-selling activities.

In a gang-related shooting, Phillip Andre Jacobs, Sr., 45, was found dead in his doorway after a gunman shot him at his San Bernardino apartment on July 8. One day before, Orlando Wayne Hunt, Jr., 24, of Beaumont was shot by two gunmen outside of a store at 312 East Base Line St. Four others were injured in what police also term gang-related.

On July 11, Shelton Nicholas, 23, was shot in an abandoned home in the 1500 block of North F St. Most of the murders, said Lawhead, are gang-related or affiliated with kind of drug sales or other illicit activities.

Robber Tries to Steal, Fails Miserably

Undercover police officers are doing their best to serve communities in order to reduce crime, and they are succeeding in doing it.

It is not too often when you see a thief attempt to steal from an undercover deputy. However, one particular individual fell for the undercover’s trap and was arrested on the spot last Friday, July 11, in Los Angeles.

According to the report, Adam Jaime Garcia came up to the undercover deputy and asked to borrow his cell phone at the Metro Pershing Square Red Line Station. After the deputy refused, Garcia seemingly left the station. Later, Garcia came back and came up to the undercover again, but this time demanding to use his cell phone. The deputy was dressed in plain clothes, giving Garcia no indication that it was a deputy. When Garcia demanded the cell phone, he reached for his waistband, illustrating that he may pull out a weapon. The deputy identified himself right away and arrested Garcia. Garcia actually did not have a weapon, and he was safely detained without injury.

Garcia was arrested for Attempted Robbery.

His bail has been set at $52,000.

Garcia would have probably been better off permanently leaving the station, instead of coming back.

MONTCLAIR – A city located about 40 minutes west of San Bernardino suffered its first murder this year, according to Montclair authorities.

On Tuesday, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office released the name of a 23-year-old Latino man who was discovered near some bushes shortly after 3 a.m. According to reports, multiple shots were heard at Exeter Ave. and San Bernardino St.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had suffered injuries to his upper torso. The victim, Joe L. Cisneros-Carrillo, of Montclair, was pronounced dead at the scene. A suspect is being sought.
In the early stages of the murder investigation, detectives determined that a red or burgundy-colored, two-door sports car was seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed after the shooting. Authorities are pursuing the driver of that car as a possible suspect.

Motive has yet to be determined, according to police. Montclair, a city located within a largely populated area in Pomona Valley, has a very low crime rate, according to officials. Police said Cisneros-Carrillo’s death was the city’s first murder this year.

Montclair, located in the far western portion of San Bernardino County, is bordered by Upland and Chino, along with Los Angeles County cities Pomona and Claremont. Interstate 10 runs through the northern part of the city.
Both I-10 and the 210 freeway are direct routes to San Bernardino which, in direct contrast to Montclair’s murder reports, has suffered 31 murders in 2014. Since 2000, there have been 30 reported murders in Montclair.

Redding police finally nail dangerous fugitive

John Nicholas Delevati, 29, a known dangerous criminal, was captured yesterday after nearly escaping police for the second time in two months.

Delevati has a criminal record too long to list, with over twenty arrests in the past seven years, according to records. He has been charged with robbery, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving, resisting arrest, contempt of court, drug charges and parole violations. His most notable incident happened in 2011 when he was arrested for robbery, carjacking, and false imprisonment with violence. According to a story published in the Redding Record-Searchlight, he and a woman named Ashley Gordon stole a car in southeast Redding. The young woman in the car, a 19-year-old, said she had been dragged from her Honda Element, beaten, held to the ground and had her keys taken. She said she had tried to stop the pair from stealing her car.

While on parole for that crime, Delevati was detained a few times for driving with a suspended license, failure to appear in court, and parole violations. That included an arrest in March of this year for a DUI on a suspended licence and again, failure to appear in court.

On June 3, Redding police announced that an officer had spotted a stolen vehicle, a black 2000 Ford Expedition on Canyon Road near South Market Street. As he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver drove into the nearby Win River Casino area along Redding Rancheria road, and ditched the truck at the end. The driver, who was identified as Delevati, ran away into the area around Clear Creek. He could not be found despite an intensive search, which included the police K9s and a CHP helicopter. They announced he was wanted at the time for felony spousal abuse, another carjacking, and criminal threats.

Delevati was seen at this house and ran to hide a few doors down.

Delevati was seen at this house and ran to hide a few doors down.

Yesterday, Monday July 14 at 10:17 am, officers sought out Delevati at a home in west Redding, on Sacramento Street about a mile and a half from where he had almost been captured. They approached the home and spotted Delevati, distinctive for his size – 5’11″ and 220 pounds – with numerous tattoos, including a swastika on top of his shaved head. He saw the officers approach, and took off running. A perimeter was established and the home, along with the surrounding neighborhood, was searched. A CHP helicopter was again called in to assist. He was found hiding in a house just a few doors down, at the corner of Sacramento and Eastside Road.

He was booked once again at the familiar surroundings of the Shasta County Jail on his outstanding warrants. His long list of victims will no doubt be relieved and hope he serves a much longer term behind bars before he is on the streets again.

An online predator literally delivered himself to Placer County Jail after agreeing to meet a 13-year-old girl there for a sexual rendezvous, according to an official press release from Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel Eugene Kirschner, 28, of Auburn, was reportedly arrested on Tuesday, July 8 and booked into the Placer County Jail on charges of communicating with a minor for purposes of committing a sexual act, and attempted lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14. His bail was set at $100,00 and he reportedly bailed out at 1:30am on Wednesday, July 9. His court date is reportedly set for Monday, August 4 at 8:30 am in Dept. 31 of the Placer County Court.

Kirschner posted on his Facebook page on July 9 “Got in trouble again. Wish didn’t happen to me”. Then, responding to a friend’s comment, he wrote “Well I got setup and all my friends said I’m retarded already and they took advantage of me they all think is [deleted] up not my gault she responded first to so entrapment I call it”.

According to Placer County Sheriff, Kirschner is the fourth suspect since February 2014 to be arrested after placing an online ad that was answered by a Placer County Sheriff’s detective. Detectives have reportedly been responding to ads by posing as a 13-year-old girl.

In Kirschner’s case, he reportedly placed an ad seeking a girlfriend on a popular website. A detective reportedly responded to the ad and told him she was 13, however, the suspect did not stop corresponding with the “girl,” and continually talked to the detective for one week.

Detectives posing as the 13-year-old girl then told Kirschner she would meet up with him at Placer County Jail while her mother was there for her boyfriend’s court appearance. Kirschner reportedly did not hesitate to meet her there and as soon as he arrived, detectives confronted him and walked him right into the jail under arrest.
